tl;dr
How often have you read or felt this?
There are many that would argue that the internet is no place for longer form text or bigger ideas. Things should be snappy, hyperlinked and use the technical gifts that have been bestowed upon them. Break up the text with pictures, use sans serifs.
Usually I embrace such concepts, but I don’t know that blogging makes you a better writer, just a better blogger.
And so there’s a project. Put your long form in one place where it doesn’t interfere with memes or rhapsodies about one’s cat etc.
Not that I’m hating, by any means. I have a blog for frivolous brandumps, they’re therapeutic. But it’s nice to have something a little different, something that could otherwise have been scribbled onto paper. Something just a little long.
Here there are a collection of short works and essays that strive to be in excess of 500-1000 words. Pieces that try to develop a though and spend a little time on it rather than scribbling it on a napkin and moving on to The Next Big Thing (something I’m already quite guilty of).
Enjoy! Or don’t.
